Combi Boiler

Providing both heat and hot water through the one system, combi boilers, also known as combination boilers, are the most common type of boiler. Most new combi boilers come with high energy efficiency ratings, provide instant hot water, and don’t require an immersion heater or water tank.

This is because combi boilers heat water on demand, instead of storing hot water for later use.

Standard boiler

Standard boilers, also referred to as regular, heat-only, or conventional boilers, provide homes with both heating and water with help from a hot water cylinder and cold water tank. These boilers are well-suited to larger, busier family homes that have several bathrooms and a higher demand for hot water.

The biggest benefit of this system is that multiple people can use the water at the same time without being impacted by a change in water pressure or temperature. They’re also compatible with both solar panels and older heating systems, and can provide back-up hot water in the event that your boiler breaks down.

System Boiler

Similar to standard boilers, system boilers are also ideal for homes that require a lot of hot water. This is because system boilers work together with a hot water cylinder to provide properties with both central heating and a constant supply of hot water. Unlike standard boilers, however, system boilers don’t require an additional cold water storage tank.

Back boiler

While we don’t install back boilers (it’s been against the law since 2005 to install back boilers in the UK following a change in regulations), we can replace them. Back boilers are notoriously inefficient and dangerous, but they’re still common in homes that haven’t had any recent renovation work carried out.
